Brief Course Description

This course teaches you how to navigate GDPR, how to educate the organization, how to roll out initiatives to the entire organization in order to attain GDPR compliance. One of our PECB certified instructors will present the course live over five days in a classroom setting. You may opt to participate remotely. The certification exam is given on day five of the course. Once you pass the exam, you will have two credential options to apply for depending on your career experience. PECB will verify your application and send the appropriate credential out at the end of the process

Prerequisites

Participants attending this training course are required to have a fundamental understanding of the GDPR and comprehensive knowledge of data protection requirements.

Day 1: Introduction to the GDPR concepts and principles

Day 2: Assigning a DPO and analysis of the GDPR compliance program

Day 3: DPO role and responsibilities

Day 4: Monitoring and continuous improvement of GDPR compliance

Day 5: Certification exam

Examination

The exam covers the following competency domains:

  • Domain 1: Data protection concepts, General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and compliance initiatives
  • Domain 2: Roles and responsibilities of accountable parties for GDPR compliance
  • Domain 3: Technical and organizational initiatives for data protection

If you fail the exam, you can retake the exam within 12 months of taking the initial exam for free. the retake rules only apply to those who have attended the training course.

Certification

Once you pass the exam, you can apply for a credential appropriate to your career experience. You will receive a certificate once you comply with all the requirements related to the selected credential. Certification fees are included in the exam price.
